A Standardized Kit for Automated Quantitative Assessment of Candidate Protein Biomarkers in Human Plasma
To assist in the standardization of multiple reaction monitoring-mass spectrometry (MRM-MS) for clinical proteomics, a biomarker assessment kit (BAK-76) has been developed for the precise quantitation of 76 high-to-moderate-abundance proteins, which spans a plasma concentration range of >4 orders of magnitude. Using the supplied starting materials, an amended sample prep procedure for automated liquid handling on a Tecan robotic system was developed. Detailed in an article published in December 2015 in Bioanalysis Journal are the revised sample preparation methods, the data analysis requirements and qualification strategy, the bioanalytical performance of the automated BAK-76, and its utility in applying the supplied SIS mixes to control and patient samples in a biomarker-focused study.
