Applications: Metabolism
CIL offers the most complete listing of metabolic substrates available. Some of the many applications for these materials include the utilization of amino acids for protein/amino acid turnover studies, carbohydrates for glucose metabolism studies, and fatty acids for lipolysis research. Stable isotope labeling of these materials allows investigators to study metabolic pathways in living systems in a manner which is safe and non-invasive.

For decades CIL has offered SP grade materials for use in metabolic investigations. These materials are tested in the bulk form for microbial and pyrogen content and have been tested to ensure high chemical purity and isotopic enrichment.

CIL has distinguished itself for many years in the isotope labeled metabolic tracer market by offering a Metabolic Grade (MG) product line. These products are made using stricter production guidelines and undergo more rigorous quality control (QC) testing than SP grade materials. MG products are expected to meet the specifications of USP and EP monograph testing pertaining to chemical identity and chemical purity, although more modern test methods may be used.

To meet demand for researchers wishing to use isotope-labeled materials in clinical trials, CIL is pleased to announce our Clinical Trial Material (CTM) product line. CTM grade material meets Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) guidelines for the production of drug substances used in early phase clinical trials.
